Good Ideas, Better Questions & Actual Plans!

Last Saturday's Libra New Moon gave us a chance to consider what we'd like to change. This week asks what we're going to do about it.

The Moon is waxing, growing from 1% illumination on Sunday to 42% by Saturday. We're in the early part of a new Lunar cycle, when intentions are beginning to develop but haven't necessarily produced visible results.

Scorpio opens the week wanting answers, particularly about things we've overlooked or avoided. Sagittarius arrives Tuesday evening with a reminder that there's usually more than one way to approach a situation. Then Capricorn takes over Friday morning and wants to know whether those exciting possibilities come with a realistic plan. Fair question!

It's a useful week for research, learning, exploring opportunities, and deciding which commitments deserve your time. We also have a couple of lengthy Void-of-Course periods to consider when scheduling important activities.

Here's where I'd put things on the calendar.

📅 Planning Your Week With the Moon

Sunday and Monday: Look into the details.
Scorpio favors research, reviewing shared finances, investigating a concern, and having honest conversations. Monday is particularly suited to matters requiring concentration or discretion.

Tuesday: Keep existing work moving.
The Scorpio Moon is Void of Course for much of the day. Familiar responsibilities, revisions, and reviewing plans fit traditional Lunar timing better than initiating something that depends on a specific outcome.

Wednesday: Explore something different.
Sagittarius favors education, brainstorming, travel planning, and conversations that introduce new perspectives. Research a class, investigate an opportunity, or look beyond your usual options.

Thursday: Discuss possibilities earlier.
If you're planning a proposal, presentation, or conversation about future opportunities, consider scheduling it before the Sagittarius Moon goes Void of Course at 2:55 PM.

Friday: Work out the practical details.
Capricorn arrives at 5:57 AM, making budgets, business planning, deadlines, and decisions about responsibilities useful priorities.

Saturday: Give your plans somewhere to go.
The Capricorn Moon favors preparing for the coming week, checking progress, and establishing realistic next steps.

Void-of-Course Moon periods (PDT):

  • Sunday, October 11: Until 8:21 AM

  • Tuesday, October 13: 1:45 AM–5:59 PM

  • Thursday, October 15, at 2:55 PM through Friday, October 16, at 5:57 AM

Void-of-Course periods are traditional astrological timing considerations, not guarantees of delays or unsuccessful outcomes. Necessary responsibilities still need attention. Where you have a choice, allow yourself some flexibility.

🌒 Sunday, October 11

Waxing Crescent • 1% • Libra → Scorpio at 8:21 AM

Sunday begins with the Libra Moon Void of Course until Scorpio takes over at 8:21 AM.

We're only a day past the New Moon, and Scorpio is already interested in what lies beneath our intentions. Not just what we want, but why we want it and what might need to change for it to happen.

If yesterday's intentions involved relationships, finances, trust, or personal priorities, this is a good opportunity to examine them a little more closely.

For example, wanting a better balance between work and personal time sounds reasonable. But where is that time actually going? Is the problem your schedule, the expectations you've agreed to, or something you haven't been willing to change?

Scorpio can be remarkably good at finding the question we've been avoiding.

You don't need to solve it all on a Sunday. Understanding the issue is a worthwhile beginning.

💎 Crystal Companion: Obsidian: A fitting choice for Scorpio's introspective side, traditionally used for protection and examining uncomfortable truths.

🌒 Monday, October 12

Waxing Crescent • 5% • Moon in Scorpio

If something deserves a closer look, Monday is a good place to put it.

The Scorpio Moon favors investigation, discretion, and getting to the bottom of things. Its traditional Mars rulership adds determination, while its fixed Water nature brings persistence and emotional depth.

This can be useful for reviewing financial arrangements, researching an important purchase, checking the details of an agreement, or dealing with a private matter that needs your attention.

Scorpio also has a reputation for suspicion, and there's a distinction worth making here: asking questions is productive; deciding someone must be hiding something before you've gathered the facts is another matter entirely.

Take your time with the information. A little patience now may prevent a much more complicated conversation later.

And if you discover something that changes your original plan? That's not necessarily a setback. The Waxing Crescent is still early enough in the cycle to make adjustments.

💎 Crystal Companion: Labradorite: Often chosen for insight and navigating change, particularly when you're learning something that challenges an earlier assumption.

🌒 Tuesday, October 13

Waxing Crescent • 10% • Scorpio → Sagittarius at 5:59 PM
Scorpio Moon Void of Course: 1:45 AM–5:59 PM

Most of Tuesday falls within a lengthy Scorpio Void-of-Course period.

If you follow traditional Lunar timing, this isn't where I'd deliberately schedule a major new launch or something that depends heavily on a specific outcome. Existing work, however, still needs doing.

Follow up on a conversation. Review the figures. Edit the proposal. Finish the research you started yesterday. There's plenty of useful work that doesn't require opening an entirely new chapter.

Then, at 5:59 PM, the Moon enters Sagittarius.

After Scorpio's concentrated attention, Sagittarius is more interested in the possibilities. That change is especially helpful if you've been looking at a situation so closely that you've forgotten there might be another way to approach it.

Tuesday evening is a good time to browse something interesting, consider a different solution, or talk through an idea without needing to make a final decision.

Not every useful conversation has to end with a commitment.

💎 Crystal Companion: Fluorite: A traditional choice for clarity and discernment when you have plenty of information but still need to sort out what matters.

🌒 Wednesday, October 14

Waxing Crescent • 16% • Moon in Sagittarius

Sagittarius has the Moon all day, and the mood is noticeably more expansive.

Ruled by Jupiter, Sagittarius is associated with learning, travel, philosophy, exploration, and broadening our understanding. With the Moon waxing, this is a fitting time to give an interesting possibility some attention.

Maybe you've been considering a class, a new skill, a business opportunity, or a trip. Maybe you're simply tired of approaching the same problem in the same way and getting the same result.

Wednesday favors looking beyond what's familiar.

Talk to someone who knows more about the subject. Research options you hadn't considered. Explore a different approach to something you've been working on.

Sagittarius is excellent at reminding us how much is possible. It's occasionally less enthusiastic about reading the terms and conditions.

Enjoy the inspiration, but check the details before agreeing to anything expensive or time-consuming.

💎 Crystal Companion: Sodalite: Connected with learning and clear reasoning, making it a good match for Sagittarius's curiosity when enthusiasm needs a little discernment.

🌒 Thursday, October 15

Waxing Crescent • 24% • Moon in Sagittarius
Void of Course begins at 2:55 PM

Thursday gives us another stretch of Sagittarius energy before the Moon goes Void of Course at 2:55 PM.

If you have a presentation, proposal, educational opportunity, or discussion about future plans, the earlier part of the day is the traditional timing I'd favor.

There's also something useful about Sagittarius when it comes to conversations: it encourages us to consider the bigger picture rather than getting stuck on one detail.

This can help when discussing future goals with a partner, exploring a new direction at work, or trying to understand someone else's perspective.

But enthusiasm can get ahead of reality. Before committing to an exciting opportunity, ask what it actually involves. The time, money, expectations, and responsibilities matter just as much as the potential.

After the Moon goes Void of Course, there's no need to force a decision. Let an idea develop a little before deciding whether it belongs on your calendar.

💎 Crystal Companion: Citrine: Associated with optimism and abundance, a natural match for Sagittarius's adventurous outlook and willingness to explore opportunities.

🌒 Friday, October 16

Waxing Crescent • 33% • Sagittarius → Capricorn at 5:57 AM

The Sagittarius Moon's Void-of-Course period ends when Capricorn arrives at 5:57 AM.

And suddenly, that interesting idea from Wednesday needs a budget.

Capricorn is a cardinal Earth sign ruled by Saturn, traditionally associated with responsibility, structure, long-term goals, and the work required to maintain them.

This makes Friday a useful day for reviewing expenses, establishing deadlines, organizing a project, or deciding which commitments are realistic.

If something caught your interest earlier in the week, take a closer look at what pursuing it would involve. Do you have the resources? Is the timing reasonable? What would need to happen first?

Capricorn doesn't necessarily discourage ambition. It asks us to give ambition a foundation.

You may discover that an idea is entirely achievable once you break it into manageable parts. Or you may realize it needs more preparation than you expected.

Either way, you're making a more informed decision.

💎 Crystal Companion: Tiger's Eye: A traditional stone for determination and practical confidence, particularly fitting when it's time to turn an idea into a workable plan.

🌒 Saturday, October 17

Waxing Crescent • 42% • Moon in Capricorn

The Moon reaches 42% illumination today, and tomorrow brings the First Quarter Moon.

That makes Saturday an interesting point in the Lunar cycle. We've had nearly a week since the New Moon, enough time to begin exploring our intentions and noticing what they might require.

Capricorn encourages consistency and thinking beyond immediate results.

This is a useful day to review a goal, prepare for the coming week, or make progress on something that benefits from structure. It could be organizing your finances, setting aside time for a personal project, or deciding how to share responsibilities more fairly.

The important question isn't whether you've accomplished everything already. It's whether the choices you're making are supporting what you said you wanted.

And while Capricorn is associated with discipline, that doesn't mean you need to spend your entire Saturday being productive.

Rest, recreation, and personal time can be part of a responsible schedule too. Saturn doesn't need to approve your afternoon plans.

💎 Crystal Companion: Garnet: Associated with perseverance and commitment, especially when a goal needs consistent attention rather than a burst of enthusiasm.

One thing I appreciate about this week's Moon progression is that it doesn't ask us to approach every situation the same way.

Some things deserve investigation. Others benefit from curiosity. And eventually, the promising ones need a realistic plan.

If an intention from last week's New Moon is beginning to look different now that you've considered what's involved, don't be afraid to adjust it.

That's part of figuring out what you actually want to build.

Brightest Blessings,
Luna 💫
